Install electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment and save with EV Charge SF!
EV Charge SF (Program) reduces speed bumps on your transition to clean transportation by helping you pay for EV charging equipment at your home or business. Through EV Charge SF, your project can take advantage of up to $120,000 in financial incentives to install EV charging equipment and related infrastructure.
Eligibility
Existing Buildings and New Construction Projects, either multifamily (5+ units) or commercial, that are CleanPowerSF or Hetch Hetchy Power customers served under a qualifying electric rate.
Incentives & Assistance
The Program offers, on a first come, first served basis:
- Financial incentives for installing EV outlets, chargers, and conduit.
- Optional technical assistance for many projects.

Program Steps and Key Documents
- Pre-Enrollment: All Applicants are encouraged to explore the resources and facts sheets on this website and review the Program Handbook for eligibility requirements and offerings.
- Program Enrollment: In addition to the Enrollment Agreement, the Applicant attends an Initial Meeting and Technical Orientation.
- Enrollment Agreement
- Technical Orientation (30-minute video - coming soon)
- Technical Assistance & Incentive Agreement: To reserve incentives, the Applicant completes an Incentive Agreement. Applicants converting at least four parking stalls may request no-cost technical assistance from the Program to help develop the required EV Charging Project Scope.
- Incentive Agreement - Existing Buildings
- Incentive Agreement - New Construction Project (coming soon)
- Incentive Reservation: Upon SFPUC approval of the Incentive Agreement and incentive amount, SFPUC issues an Incentive Reservation Notice. At this point, the Applicant may purchase the EV charging equipment.
- Project Completion & Incentive Payment: After project construction is complete, the Applicant notifies the Program. The verification process, often including a site visit, confirms that the project is constructed per the Incentive Agreement and that all Program requirements are met. The SFPUC then issues the incentive.
