Hampshire and York Streets Utility Upgrade Project
Overview
Critical upgrades to our aging water and sewer infrastructure are planned for:
- Hampshire and York streets between Mariposa and Cesar Chavez streets
- Bryant Street between Precita Avenue and 26th Street
- 23rd and 25th streets between Hampshire Street and Potrero Avenue
- 26th Street between Bryant and Hampshire streets
- Cesar Chavez Street between Hampshire Street and the Bayshore Boulevard on-ramp
This project will include 8-inch and 12-inch ductile iron water main replacement, 16-inch earthquake resistant ductile iron water main installation, sewer replacement, and pavement restoration.
Construction Look Ahead
Week of February 24th
- T-trench and street base concrete restoration - Hampshire Street between 21st and 24th streets
- Catch basin installation - Intersection of 26th and York streets
- Curb ramp installation - Intersection of 26th and Hampshire streets
- Final street paving - York Street between Mariposa and 21st Street
- Streets will be closed to traffic with no street parking or driveway access during working hours of 7am to 5pm. Parking and driveway access allowed from 5:15pm to 6:45am.
- Wednesday, February 26: Street grinding between Mariposa and 21st Street; Minimal impacts to driveway access.
- Thursday, February 27: Asphalt repaving between Mariposa and 19th Street; Streets closed 7am - 5pm
- Friday, February 28: Asphalt repaving between 19th and 21st Street; Streets closed 7am - 5pm
- Streets will be closed to traffic with no street parking or driveway access during working hours of 7am to 5pm. Parking and driveway access allowed from 5:15pm to 6:45am.
Week of March 3rd
- Curb ramp installation - Intersection of 26th and Hampshire streets
- Excavate service transfer pits and service changeovers - Hampshire Street between 18th and Mariposa streets
- Excavate connection pits - Hampshire Street at Cesar Chavez Street
- T-trench and street base concrete restoration - Hampshire Street between 21st and 24th streets; Cesar Chavez on-ramp
- Concrete bus pad restoration - Hampshire Street between 24th and 25th streets
- Final street paving - York Street between 21st and 24th streets and 25th to 26th streets; Hampshire Street between Cesar Chavez and 24th Street; 25th Street between Potrero and Hampshire Street
- Streets will be closed to traffic with no street parking or driveway access during working hours of 7am to 5pm. Parking and driveway access allowed from 5:15pm to 6:45am.
