It’s been an epic Public Power Week!
This week, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) joined 2,000+ community-owned, not-for-profit electric providers across the country and celebrated San Francisco’s public power programs: Hetch Hetchy Power and CleanPowerSF. Public power utilities deliver safe, affordable, and reliable power to more than 50 million Americans across the country. We also highlighted the City’s efforts to expand public power in San Francisco through the “Our City Our Power” campaign.
Public Power Week Recap
In case you missed it, General Manager Dennis Herrera explained the benefits of public power, like more affordable rates, for all San Franciscans.
We also highlighted:
- Public power wins and achievements from the past year
- The people behind public power: Michael Kaster, Naima Clark, and Jason Siebert
- The brilliant update to the iconic “Path of Gold” streetlights on Market Street
- The 20th anniversary of our powerful partnership with Moscone Center
