March is Women’s History Month, a time to celebrate and recognize the achievements of women throughout the years in our culture and society. At the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC), Women’s History Month is a time to uplift the stories of the hard-working women who are making a positive impact within the utilities industry. 

Taylor Nokhoudian is a Program Manager working in the Water Resources Division at the SFPUC. Her role is to manage San Francisco’s Onsite Water Reuse Program and develop new initiatives to test innovative ways to conserve water, recover resources, and diversify our vital water supply. 

Taylor believes it’s critical to uplift women’s voices so that our utility can be more representative of the customers we serve. As she has navigated her career within the SFPUC, she credits the role that her mentor has played and the positive impact it has had on her life. “Seeing her leadership recognized within the SFPUC inspires and motivates me to keep pushing when things get challenging,” she said. “It has been invaluable to have a mentor that leads by example.”

Taylor wants to ensure that young women consider a career in water utilities. “I think SFPUC is unique because we are doing innovative projects and programs that challenge business as usual. I find real value working here because we are actively creating a more sustainably built environment.”
