While Black Friday is a retail frenzy, plumbers call the day after Thanksgiving “Brown Friday” due to a spike in clogged pipes and dirty water. 

As we recover from our Thanksgiving feasts, plumbers and wastewater workers alike are busy ensuring our sewer systems stay clear. You might be surprised to hear that kitchen sink clogs, not bathroom issues, dominate Brown Friday, which is one of the busiest days of the year. Turkey drippings, potatoes, and pasta heavily strain your sink, often causing blockages.
