The work is occurring within the SFPUC’s Peninsula Watershed in two locations:
- North of State Route 92 along the existing Fifield-Cahill Ridge Trail;
- Construction of a new .5-mile-long universal access loop trail, a 50-car parking lot along with trailhead improvements.
- Week of 3/17 - Layout Universal Access Loop parking lot; apply and compact soil mix subgrade.; Install boundary fence
- Week of 3/24 -- Continue installing boundary fence.
- Week of 3/31 -- Place fabric and fill.
2. South of State Route 92 & East of State Route 35 (also known as Skyline Boulevard);
- Construction of a new 6-mile-long trail segment to be served by a new 24-car parking lot and trailhead improvements.
- Construction of wildlife-friendly security fencing and other security features;
- Installation of a pedestrian bridge, pre-fabricated restrooms and interpretive signage.
- Week of 3/17 & 3/24 -- North Segment: Clean up from storm; final pathway and shoulders.
- Week of 3/17 & 3/24 -- Middle Segment: Clean up from storm; Smooth final pathway and shoulders; lay out internal fence alignment.
- Week of 3/17 & 3/24 -- South Segment: Clean up from storm; Install drain lenses; clear for internal boundary fencing.
