Floodwater Management Grant Program

These grants are for San Francisco property owners who experience flooding from the public right-of way or backflow events from the sewer system during heavy rains. Learn how you can install flood protection measure for your home with support from the Floodwater Management Grant.  

How to Get Started

Step 1: Read the Floodwater Grant Guidebook to understand if you may be eligible for a Floodwater Grant and what to expect from the grant process.

Step 2: Submit a detailed Floodwater Grant Interest Form. This will serve as the written documentation for the flood event, so please be as specific as possible when describing the flooding. After submittal, you will receive an email with a link to upload any supporting documentation, such as photos or videos from the flooding event. If you need assistance completing this form, please call the Floodwater Grant team at (415) 523-4412. 

Step 3: A site visit will be scheduled by the grant team on your property. This will help inform grant eligibility and potential flood protection measures. Following the site visit, the grant team will send you a Site Opportunity Assessment and next steps to apply for the grant.
