Alameda Creek Watershed Center in Sunol
Overview
We are currently finalizing work on the Alameda Creek Watershed Center adjacent to the Sunol Water Temple as part of our effort to improve our existing facilities in the Sunol Yard. The facility will include both an interpretive center and an outdoor discovery trail designed to complement the existing natural and built environment. Due to unforeseen complications in the construction process, we do not currently have an opening date scheduled.

Project Background
The design of the Center is intended to provide a place for people to:
- Gather:
- Inside – Exhibits and space for educational activities
- Outside – Attractive grounds and native landscaping
- Learn about and appreciate the Alameda Creek Watershed, its natural resources and its role as part of the SFPUC water supply system. Educational programs for school children would also be supported at the Center.
- Connect with the history of the Sunol Valley
- Participate in activities associated with the Sunol AgPark and volunteer opportunities in the watershed and at the Center.

Construction Updates
What to Expect
- Construction will take place adjacent to the Sunol Water Temple on SFPUC-owned property.
- Construction Hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday. While we do not currently plan on weekend work, the contractor may be at the site on Saturdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Crews will abide by local noise ordinances.
- Expect increased truck and vehicular traffic going into and out of the site
- The Sunol AgPark remains operational.
- The entire area accessed by Temple Road, including the Sunol Water Temple, Sunol Yard, and Sunol AgPark remains closed to the public during construction.
