SFPUC manages thousands of acres of land within the drinking water watersheds and service areas. We depend on healthy ecosystems to help purify and protect the water that drains to our reservoirs.
Thoughtful land management has allowed the SFPUC to create educational opportunities consistent with watershed protection, including public access. Public awareness of the watersheds is important to the SFPUCs goal of effective environmental stewardship.

This community center offers beautiful event space and curated grounds for residents of Bayview Hunters Point and surrounding District 10 neighborhoods to gather, learn, and play. Programs and services for social and academic needs offered by our partners are also available to the community.
We partner with a local community organization on this urban farm at Crocker Amazon Park, which offers affordable fresh produce to communities in the Excelsior neighborhood.
We designed this educational and demonstration garden to teach local students about environmentally friendly water use, food, energy, and waste systems. It is open for field trips and group tours by appointment.
