Mind, Body, and Spirit: How the D10 Health Brought Residents Together in Support of Holistic Health

On Sunday, October 20, 2024, the Southeast Community Center (SECC) hosted the 12th annual District 10 (D10) Health Fest, previously known as the Southeast Community Facility Commission Health Fair.

This year’s theme healthy bodies, healthy minds, and healthy spirits shined a light on the SECC’s commitment to support and uplift the holistic health of D10 residents and the broader San Francisco Community.

Over 375 people attended the D10 Health Fest on October 20, 2024.

In partnership with 30+ community-based organizations, City departments, and community members staff curated a series of health activities including:

  • Fitness Activations: Pop-up skating rink, double dutch competition, and line dancing.
  • Free Health Screenings: Blood pressure, dental, STD/STI screenings.
  • Free Wellness Services: Massage workshops, pop-up herbal tea bar, infused water station, and seed plantings.
  • Award Ceremony: Honoring four individuals for their achievements and impact on the Southeast community.
  • Community-based Resources: Direct connections to community-based organizations and health related services in D10.
