The Floodwater Grant program supports eligible San Francisco property owners with up to $100,000 to install flood-protection measures on their property.

The Floodwater Grant program supports eligible San Francisco property owners with up to $100,000 to install flood-protection measures on their property. Property owners may be eligible for this San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) grant if they experienced rain-related flooding from the street or sidewalk (public right-of-way) or plumbing fixtures (City sewer system). What to expect at these events

  • Learn and ask questions about grant eligibility requirements, how the process works, and ideas for projects that could minimize flood risk for your property. 
  • At the October 9 coffee chat, staff will also discuss the Folsom Area Stormwater Improvement Project, which will increase the capacity of the sewer system and reduce the risk of flooding in the area. The project will construct and upsize sewer pipes and large sewer storage and transportation boxes and add a new stormwater tunnel. Construction started in 2023 and will ramp up in early 2025.
