June is globally recognized as Pride Month, a time of celebration, commemoration, and activism for the LGBTQIA+ community. It is also a great time to reflect on how the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission can further uplift and support the LGBTQIA+ community.
As we celebrate Pride Month, it's essential to honor and uplift the voices, cultures, and histories of our LGBTQIA+ community. At the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC), we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment that supports LGBTQIA+ rights and acknowledges the contributions of our diverse staff.
As we approach warmer weather and wildfire season, we want you to be prepared in the event of a Flex Alert, PG&E Public Safety Shutoff, or rotating power outages. Although these events are infrequent in San Francisco, preparing in advance is still key.

He has worked at the SFPUC for 3 years and explains the importance of equity through knowledge. “I think there are a lot of resources that we provide that are available to us whether it’s from the PUC or the city. It’s important that we share this information with the entire agency.”
