New SFPUC Water Division Campus
Overview
The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission is starting construction on a new base of operations for its San Francisco Water Division. Located at the intersection of Cesar Chavez Street and Evans Avenue, the SFPUC and its contractor will demolish the existing buildings and construct a new campus with essential facilities for the operations of the SF Water Division. These include an administration building, warehouse, industrial shops and a parking structure. It will be LEED certified with solar arrays that will produce 900 kilowatts of renewable energy to meet the campus’s power needs. The interior courtyard will feature a rainwater garden to capture and divert stormwater.
The seismically resilient facilities will ensure the city is able to provide critical water services for San Francisco residents and for the San Francisco Fire Department during major events and enable Water Division teams to more effectively respond to emergencies such as water main breaks.
