Congrats to Robin Scheswohl and Sabrina Wong, the talented staff photographers of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC), who were recognized for their skills by industry trade magazine Engineering News-Record (ENR).

Out of more than 1,000 photos submitted, Robin and Sabrina’s photos of Mountain Tunnel and Treasure Island were honored in ENR’s annual Year in Construction Photo Contest issue. ENR ultimately selected 50 images that showcase the hustle and bustle of construction sites, highlighting the immense amount of human collaboration and effort it takes to run them.

This was Sabrina’s first win in the ENR contest. “Being recognized for this image feels like a fun ode to my earlier days in photography when I produced more fine artwork.  That aesthetic was intentional when creating this image, and I hope viewers feel it too when seeing this piece. I never imagined being deeply entrenched in the world of construction.  And now, every day, I get to explore and learn and am truly grateful for being able to do something I love,” says Sabrina.

Robin was also honored that two of her photos were chosen. On her work at the SFPUC, Robin shared, “I’ve spent almost 18 years documenting the important work performed by the SFPUC, helping tell the agency’s story via imagery. It means a lot to have my work recognized, especially among so many talented photographers, and be able to share our projects with the rest of the world.”

Congratulations to Robin and Sabrina for their extraordinary photography! Check out ENR's February issue for a look at the incredible photos selected this year – including Robin and Sabrina’s entries.
